I EVALUATED A WEBSITE YOU MAYBE LIKE

Hello Everyone!

I want to introduce you a website called NewsInLevels.com.

Firstly, there is no information about who authored the website but there are some information about their purpose, when designed etc. in the part of About Us. You can find it at the bottom of the website. To sum up their purpose, they wanted to help EFL students understand more and have a chance to practise English through the news. Yes, this is a very general definition of their purpose but if I need to give further information to you, let’s look at below.

It has a simple website design. The website provides students some news and students can choose any levels and any topic what they want. For example, you chose level 2 and as a topic you chose Funny option.

Here are funny and level 2 news: 

As you see, it includes both writing and audio. When you read and listen to news, you practise English and you learn. This develops reading and listening skills very well.

In the news, there are some words that you can find it difficult to know but this website detect that words which you cant know and it provides you those word’s means. So, you don’t lose time through looking at a dictionary and you can learn it easily. 

What is that supposed to mean?

Who is the target audience?

I think, these news appeal to everyone. I mean, from child to adult, everyone can read and listen these news because there are a lot of topic that a person can interested in. So, the answer to a question like “who is the target audience?” can be everyone who wants to learn English.

Some words to English teachers…

Teachers should benefit from this website. But How ?

For a child, visual things important for learning. This website includes so many videos about animals, funny things etc. Teachers can maybe use these videos in the end of a lesson as an award or use as a motivation, starting a lesson with a video which related to the topic that teacher will lecture. These news are both amusing and instructive.

For adults, on the otherhand, learn English through reading news, stories and jokes. I think everyone can find something which is instructive according to their learning style in this website.
